The Mineral Resources Childcare Centre is a purpose-built early-learning facility for employees at the MinRes Osborne Park headquarters. Constructed through a refurbishment of an existing building following the completion of the main office, the centre was fitted with a complete zencontrol DALI-2 lighting control system, the same platform already deployed across the MinRes head office. The installation was delivered by our partners at Vision Cabling and DALI Solutions.
The decision to match the existing zencontrol infrastructure was deliberate and practical. By connecting both buildings to the same system, facilities staff manage lighting across the site from a single interface, with unified behaviour, consistent controls and streamlined maintenance. Motion sensors, switches and relays provide automated control throughout the childcare centre, with BMS integration giving the MinRes team access to real-time lighting data for optimisation and reporting.
DALI-2 was chosen because it aligned directly with MinRes’ established technology framework and delivered significant operational benefits: a single platform for two buildings, simplified training, and a scalable architecture ready for future site expansion. The childcare centre is a strong example of how extending an existing DALI-2 investment can deliver smart-building outcomes efficiently and cost-effectively across a growing corporate campus.
